One of the most sought-after capabilities for webMethods Integration Server has always been the automatic/programmatic creation of code for Flow services. A couple of years ago a first version of a package was built, that provided some of those functionalities.

This project is hosted on GitHub and your are encouraged to check it out. If you miss something, please open an issue.

Now work has started to improve this great starting point and add functionality that people need. In the meantime here is an overview about what works today.

Functionality oview:

• Create document types
• Add fields to existing document types
• Create packages
• Create Flow services
• Add steps to Flow services

There is also a number of samples within the package.

And of course the easiest way to get WxGenerate is via JahnTech Package Manager for webMethods Integration (JTWPM).

I am happy to announce the release of v2.4.0 of the JahnTech Package Manager for webMethods Integration (JTWPM).

New features:

• Enhancements to adding jar files via configuration files instead of putting binaries into the VCS 
  • Configuration files can now be added directly via URL, which is quite a bit faster than manually editing the config file.
  • Use a Maven POM file to define dependencies. They will be resolved (incl. transient dependencies) and configuration file be created.
• Compilation for specific Java version, especially useful for older versions of Integration Server
• Support for multiple webMethods installations from one profile
• Replaced call to jcode script with built-in logic for tighter control (still using setenv script for compatibility)

In addition numerous small improvements and bug fixes were applied.
